The thought was to develop a simple web server with integrated additional functions for mobile devices. Then in September 2006 I looked at whether this idea could actually be implemented.
Mission
A wide number of mobile devices should potentially be supported. I could achieve this by useing Java ME, which is an independent platform and is available on many mobile devices.
Goal
My aim was to be able to be useful httpd4mobile not only as a simple web server for static content but also with a focus on the additional functions.
Use Case
It provides a lot of use cases for httpd4mobile. I use httpd4mobile independently at home via WLAN as a webcam. Unfortunately, the economic use is still limited by the high provider costs for GPRS and UMTS data traffic.
Vision
My vision is an individual web server which can be transported on mobile devices everywhere.
